POLYGLUTAMIC ACID

Polyglutamic acid, also known as PGA (Polyglutamic Acid in English), is a natural substance derived from glutamic acid, an amino acid present in our body. It is formed by the polymerization of several units of glutamic acid.
Polyglutamic acid has unique characteristics that make it a valuable ingredient in skin care products. It has a molecular structure similar to that of hyaluronic acid, but it is more soluble in water and has a higher water-binding capacity. This means it can provide more intense and long-lasting hydration to the skin.
Due to its ability to retain moisture, polyglutamic acid improves skin elasticity, smoothes fine lines and wrinkles, and gives skin a firmer, plumper appearance. It also has brightening, soothing and protective properties, making it a versatile ingredient.
Polyglutamic acid is usually derived from natural sources such as the fermentation of certain bacteria, including Bacillus subtilis. It is considered safe and well tolerated by the skin, with little risk of side effects.
In detail, here are its main beneficial effects:
Intense hydration: Polyglutamic acid has a higher hydration capacity than hyaluronic acid, helping to retain moisture in the skin. This prevents dehydration and keeps skin soft and supple.

Improved skin texture: By promoting hydration, polyglutamic acid improves skin texture, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It helps to smooth the surface of the skin, giving a more uniform and radiant appearance.

Brightening Properties: Polyglutamic Acid helps reduce the appearance of dark spots, blemishes scars and hyperpigmentation. It evens out skin tone and reveals a brighter, more radiant appearance.

Soothing effect: Polyglutamic acid has soothing properties that calm sensitive and irritated skin. It helps reduce redness and inflammation, making it a beneficial ingredient for sensitive or redness-prone skin.

Protection against environmental damage: Polyglutamic acid acts as a protective shield against external aggressions such as UV rays, pollution and oxidative stress. It strengthens the skin barrier and prevents damage caused by these factors.
