NIACINAMIDE
Niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3, is a popular ingredient in skin care due to its many benefits for skin health, including in anti-aging skin care.
First, niacinamide helps protect the skin by strengthening the skin barrier, which is the outermost layer of the skin. A strong skin barrier can prevent outside irritants, such as chemicals and pollution, from penetrating the skin and causing damage. This prevents dehydration of the skin and maintains healthy skin.
Additionally, niacinamide is a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules produced by factors such as pollution, cigarette smoke and UV rays. These molecules can damage skin cells and contribute to signs of premature aging such as wrinkles, age spots, and uneven skin texture.
Niacinamide improves skin texture and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Studies have shown that it stimulates the production of collagen in the skin, which is an important protein for maintaining skin structure and elasticity. In addition, it helps regulate the production of sebum, which is the skin's natural oil, which helps prevent blemishes and clogged pores.
Finally, niacinamide has anti-inflammatory properties thanks to which it reduces redness and irritation of the skin, particularly useful for sensitive skin or skin prone to eczema.
